About us
This group brings together readers who like talking about books—themes, characters, favorite passages, and personal impressions—without any academic pressure. We meet roughly every 1–2 months and run two separate streams so you can join what fits you best:
- On‑site (Vienna): Meetings take place at a café chosen by the host. The group attending on‑site decides future picks for that stream.
- Remote: Held online and organized separately; participants in the remote stream choose their own books.
Discussions are held in English. Newcomers are warmly welcome whether you come prepared with notes or simply want to listen. Please check each event listing to confirm the date, location or online link, and which stream is reading which book.

Widely considered by literary critics to be one of the very first works of existentialist literature, it takes the form of a bitter, fragmented "confession" narrated by an unnamed, isolated 40-year-old former civil servant living in St. Petersburg, commonly referred to as the Underground Man.
