What we’re about
Open to everyone who is passionate about sharing music and discovering new sounds. We meet at Odell Brewing Company at Sloans Lake. Bring some records, exchange music and stories, and meet other lovers of vinyl culture. Beyond swapping records, connect and enjoy a drink. Whether you’re an avid collector or completely new this meetup is for anyone who wants to just listen and share.

See all- Vinyl Swap/Giveaway at Sloan's Lake Odell Brewery!Odells Sloans Lake Brewery , Denver , CO
This venue already has a weekly vinyl night every Thursday. Let's support the venue and build our community! I added giveaway because I've been consistently giving away records, which is exactly what I hoped to do. But some are swappers so don't assume!
Check-In/Swapping Instructions
- Come find the host (me). I'll be wearing a hunter orange baseball cap. I'll grab a table at the back of the restaurant. You'll see a Vinyl Swap crate on the table.
- Fill out two name tags. One is for yourself. The other will be put on the section with your records in it.
- Put your records in the communal record swapping crate. Make sure your other label is on your section.
- Swap! Once you check-in you're free to look at the other people's records. If you want to swap, grab a record, then find the owner. Ask them about it and what they like from your stash. Then make a deal.
- Do not take a record home without asking first.
Please Do:
- Come! If you have zero records, know absolutely nothing about them, and don't even have a record player, come anyway. This is a great place to learn about new music and talk nerdy about music.
- Bring music you want to talk about and share. Be prepared to tell a swapper why this record is cool, interesting, or what you like it about it. If you don't care about it or don't want to talk about it, then don't bring it. This is more about talking and meeting people than the stuff.
- Bring any format. Although this event is set up for specifically vinyl records, other formats are welcome: papyrus scrolls, cds, tapes, vhs, reel to reel.
- Be open minded. If someone wants to swap their Ahmad Jamal for your Pantera be willing to give it a listen.
- Be generous. This is about conversation and sharing, not getting the best deal.
- Be patient and kind. Many of us in the vinyl community are neurodivergent. We have difficulty knowing what to do in social situations. We go on monologues, can't stick to a topic, don't make good eye contact, and are just awkward. And that's perfectly okay in this space. It's okay to interact in small doses, not say much, or tell someone that you'd like to stop this conversation and move on. Just be kind about it.
Please Don't:
- No unplayable records. No skips, no bad warps, no records where it sounds like a bowl of rice crispies. Stick to G grade media or above.
- No non-music items. This is can change in the future, but for right now let's just stick to music.
- No crates or large boxes of records. No more than a dozen records at a time. I just want to be respectful of the venue and the other patrons and not take up too much space. I will have communal record crates set up for people to look through each other's records. No need to bring your own.
- No Scrooge McDucks. Be willing to trade the record that you know last sold on discogs for $10 for their 0.50 copy of your favorite Barbara Streisand record. Your good vinyl Karma will follow you. I promise.
- No selling. If you don't don't got the money, honey, we got the time!
It's Okay If:
- You don't want to trade. Don't let anyone pressure you into making a deal you don't want to make. Just be kind about it.
- You want to take something, but have nothing to give. Just ask the swapper if they're okay with that.
- You just want to look and talk.
