Welcome to the Virtual Hashimoto's Support Group!

Are you living with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis? You’re not alone. Our group is a warm, welcoming community dedicated to supporting individuals dealing with Hashimoto’s. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been managing this condition for years, we’re here to share experiences, offer advice, and provide emotional support.

What We Do:
• Share Experiences: Our meetups are a safe space where you can share your journey and learn from others.
• Discuss Management Strategies: We discuss diet, exercise, medication, and other management strategies that can help.
• Guest Speakers: Occasionally, we invite healthcare professionals to provide insights and answer our questions.
• Support and Encouragement: Living with an autoimmune disease can be challenging. Here, you’ll find a group of friends who understand and support each other.

Who Should Join:
Anyone with Hashimoto’s, their family members, or anyone interested in learning more about this condition. You're welcome here whether you’re looking for advice, support, or just a listening ear.

Meetup Details:
• Frequency: We meet weekly on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM EST.
• Location: Virtually via Zoom
• Cost: There are no fees to join our group.

  • Treat all group members with respect and kindness.
  • What is shared in the group should stay in the group—respect everyone's privacy.

2. No Medical Advice

  • While sharing personal experiences is encouraged, giving direct medical advice is not permitted. Group members should always consult with healthcare professionals for medical guidance.

3. Listen Actively

  • Allow members to speak without interruption.
  • Practice active listening and empathy.

4. No Promotion or Solicitation

  • The group is not a platform for selling products or services.
  • Avoid promoting personal businesses or soliciting members.

5. Inclusivity

  • Our group is inclusive and non-discriminatory.
  • Embrace diversity and avoid language that may be offensive to others.

6. Stay on Topic

  • Keep discussions relevant to Hashimoto's and related support topics.
  • Avoid straying into unrelated or potentially divisive subjects like politics or religion.

7. Be Supportive

  • Offer support and encouragement.
  • Avoid negative judgments or comments.

8. Handle Disagreements Respectfully

  • Disagreements might occur, but they should be handled respectfully and calmly.
  • Personal attacks or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
