Circle Singing in the Labyrinth - Boulder

Join us for a night (or three) of Circle Singing in the beautiful energy and resonance of the Labyrinth at Boulder's First United Methodist Church.

Circle Singing is a community singing and sounding practice, spontaneous and evolving — like a drum circle for voices.

Based on practices developed by Bobby McFerrin and his collaborators, Circle Singing is a supportive, judgment-free space to play with your voice in community with others. Leaders create songs in the moment — patterns, rhythms, melodies, harmonies, recognizable words, or invented language — and teach the parts aurally to the group. Parts layer together into completely original compositions, flowing from one song to the next. Each song is a unique creation, never sung before, never to be sung again.
It's a very organic, playful, community singing experience. All voices are welcome!

These evenings are a deep-dive into the practice of Circle Singing, an experience of spontaneous creativity, collaboration and community.
To foster the cohesive, community atmosphere that makes Circle Singing so powerful, we encourage singers to sign up for an entire series of three sessions, though two-night and single-night options are also available.
