What we’re about
Welcome!
Vegan Social Clubs was established in October 2015 by 12 vegan strangers who wanted to meet face-to-face after months of online interactions. It was such an amazing experience socializing, dining and networking with other vegans in the real world that we launched our Facebook social club. After a few lunches and fun get-togethers, the group took off!
If you are a member of FB, please search and like our Vegan Social Clubs page and join our group, Vegan Social Clubs - Atlanta. Find us on Instagram and Twitter, as well @VSClife
Our group is open to everyone, regardless of where you may find yourself in this vegan / plant-based lifestyle. We look forward to seeing you soon! We commit to update the group weekly, and to take all suggestions, recommendations, considerations and requests to heart. If you're interested in helping to manage the group, please reach out to me. Email or text me directly for the quickest response.
Thanks,
Cris

•OnlineSpecial Virtual Documentary Night: #IAmVanessaGuillen
Online**YOU MUST WATCH THE FILM ON YOUR OWN BEFORE THE EVENT**
Link to the film is in the info below.
For this Special Virtual Documentary Night, in honor of Veterans Day, we are meeting to talk about the documentary, #IAmVanessaGuillen. The murder of Army soldier Vanessa Guillen at Fort Hood military base hit too close to home for Karina Lopez. Two years after surviving sexual assault on the same base, she created a viral Facebook post with the hashtag #IamVanessaGuillen. Facing retaliation, she and other Latina soldiers have pushed forward as they fight for justice. Colonel Don Christensen (retired Air Force Colonel) will be joining us for a special guest Q&A!
Again, you must watch the film on your BEFORE the event. We will be meeting over Zoom, where we will break out into small discussion groups. We will do multiple rounds of small group discussion, then close out the night with a special guest Q&A! The Zoom information is listed below.
Meeting ID: 875 5525 6659
Passcode: 861888
This event is posted in multiple meetup groups, and on Eventbrite, as well as with members of the Community Documentary Night email list. (Message me if interested in joining the email list) Therefore, THIS RSVP LIST IS NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE ATTENDING THE EVENT. So even if you only see one person RSVPed in this meetup group, there will always be others in attendance from other groups. We tend to have at least 20 on average. By inviting numerous groups that increases the likelihood that those in attendance will be from varying backgrounds and beliefs. This is done purposefully to provide everyone with the opportunity to hear a wide range of perspectives.
This event is open to all who are open to all. The one thing we ask is that people allow others to get their full thought out and that any disagreement is voiced in a civil way. Check out the Community Documentary Night website for more info or links to previously shown documentaries.
Thank you and hope to see you there!
