Welcome!
Vegan Social Clubs was established in October 2015 by 12 vegan strangers who wanted to meet face-to-face after months of online interactions. It was such an amazing experience socializing, dining and networking with other vegans in the real world that we launched our Facebook social club. After a few lunches and fun get-togethers, the group took off!

Our group is open to everyone, regardless of where you may find yourself in this vegan / plant-based lifestyle. We look forward to seeing you soon! For this Special Virtual Documentary Night in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month we are meeting to talk about the documentary, The Bronze Screen: 100 Years of the Latino Image in Hollywood. This documentary honors the past, illuminates the present, and opens a window on the future of Latinos on the big screen. From silent movies to urban gang films, stereotypes of the Greaser, the Lazy Mexican, the Latin Lover and the Dark Lady are examined. Nancy De Los Santos (Co-Writer, Co-Producer) will be joining us for a special guest Q&A! Here is a link to where you can watch it for free.

Again, you must watch the film on your BEFORE the event. We will be meeting over Zoom, where we will break out into small discussion groups. We will do multiple rounds of small group discussion, then close out the night with a special guest Q&A! The Zoom information is listed below.

This event is posted in multiple meetup groups, and on Eventbrite, as well as with members of the Community Documentary Night email list. (Message me if interested in joining the email list) Therefore, THIS RSVP LIST IS NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE ATTENDING THE EVENT. So even if you only see one person RSVPed in this meetup group, there will always be others in attendance from other groups. We tend to have at least 20 on average. By inviting numerous groups that increases the likelihood that those in attendance will be from varying backgrounds and beliefs. This is done purposefully to provide everyone with the opportunity to hear a wide range of perspectives.
This event is open to all who are open to all. The one thing we ask is that people allow others to get their full thought out and that any disagreement is voiced in a civil way.
