What we’re about
Welcome!
Vegan Social Clubs was established in October 2015 by 12 vegan strangers who wanted to meet face-to-face after months of online interactions. It was such an amazing experience socializing, dining and networking with other vegans in the real world that we launched our Facebook social club. After a few lunches and fun get-togethers, the group took off!
If you are a member of FB, please search and like our Vegan Social Clubs page and join our group, Vegan Social Clubs - Atlanta. Find us on Instagram and Twitter, as well @VSClife
Our group is open to everyone, regardless of where you may find yourself in this vegan / plant-based lifestyle. We look forward to seeing you soon! We commit to update the group weekly, and to take all suggestions, recommendations, considerations and requests to heart. If you're interested in helping to manage the group, please reach out to me. Email or text me directly for the quickest response.
Thanks,
Cris

•OnlineVirtual Documentary Night: Dominion [Voting Night]
Online**YOU MUST WATCH THE FILM ON YOUR OWN BEFORE THIS EVENT**
For this Virtual Documentary Night we have voted to talk about the documentary, Dominion. Dominion uses drones, hidden and handheld cameras to expose the dark underbelly of modern animal agriculture, questioning the morality and validity of humankind’s dominion over the animal kingdom. While mainly focusing on animals used for food, it also explores other ways animals are exploited and abused by humans, including clothing, entertainment and research. Again, you must watch the film before attending this event. Here is a link to where you can watch the film for free.

This is a Voting Night, which means at the end of the night we brainstorm and vote to decide as a group what we will watch the following month, so please come ready with your recommendation. The only requirement is that the film must be available to watch online for free. If you need any ideas, you can search through the Flyers Page on the Community Documentary Night website. It is full of flyers based around certain themes and each flyer is full of documentary posters, which are hyperlinked to where you watch the films for free. Something to consider is that next month is January, which is Veganuary, January 1st is New Years Day, and January 19th is MLK Day. Check out the Veganuary flyer, Happy New Year flyer, or the MLK Day flyer if you're interested in recommending a film in honor of these holiday.
Again, you must watch the film on your own BEFORE the event. We will be meeting over Zoom, where we will break out into small discussion groups. We will do multiple rounds of small group discussion, then have a special guest Q&A, before closing out the night with a vote to decide what film we will watch the following month. The Zoom information is listed below.

This event is posted in multiple meetup groups, and on Eventbrite, as well as with members of the Community Documentary Night email list. (Message me if interested in joining the email list) Therefore, THIS RSVP LIST IS NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE ATTENDING THE EVENT. So even if you only see one person RSVPed in this meetup group, there will always be others in attendance from other groups. We tend to have at least 20 on average. By inviting numerous groups that increases the likelihood that those in attendance will be from varying backgrounds and beliefs. This is done purposefully to provide everyone with the opportunity to hear a wide range of perspectives.
This event is open to all who are open to all. The one thing we ask is that people allow others to get their full thought out and that any disagreement is voiced in a civil way. Check out the Community Documentary Night website for more info or links to previously shown documentaries.
Thank you and hope to see you there!2 attendees
