Join us for a discussion of Ethical Dilemmas in works of science fiction. For purposes of this discussion, we will consider an ethical dilemma as one in which a character must make a choice between two bad outcomes.

A classical formulation of the concept is the philosophical thought experiment of The Trolley Problem (made literal in an episode of The Good Place).

Other iterations are found in many works of science fiction including Ursula K LeGuin's The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas, Tom Godwin's The Cold Equations, and Star Trek's The City on the Edge of Forever.
