Writers Space Saloon - Writing the Opposite Sex

One of the women in our critique group recently observed that a female character written by one of the men in our group did not sound like a woman. This called to mind a book review written by a former member that not only did the author not write a woman convincingly, but that she was uncertain the author had actually ever met one.
