Walk Cambridge is an active walking club and social group, aimed at working age people living in Cambridge and the surrounding area. The group offers a varied programme of events throughout the year. From our weekly walks and monthly pub meets to weekends-away further afield and our annual awards dinner, there's something for everyone. So if you enjoy walking and would like to meet a friendly bunch of like-minded people, why not give us a try?
Note that we're part of the Ramblers Association, which means that everyone is welcome to attend a few events to see if they like it, then those who wish to continue are asked to join the Ramblers, a small annual subscription for membership of Britain's national walking charity. For more information please visit http://www.walkcambridge.org/join.html .
Setting off from just outside Cambridge in Coton, we walk up an actual hill past a windmill and then through the only WWII American cemetery in the UK. After paying our respects, we head for the village of Madingley and walk around the grounds of Madingley Hall, 16th century manor, owned by the University. From there its to the village of Dry Drayton, where we follow paths & a stream to Hardwick. After Hardwick, its tracks and country lanes to Coton where people can grab the bus or their car to Cambridge. From Coton, its down a cycle trail behind the west Cambridge site and we will finish at Kings Parade opposite the Senate House and Kings Chapel.
