We'll be going on a history of food & dining walk in Toronto led by the Heritage Society. Explore Toronto’s food history, from the early rustic taverns of Muddy York to the foundations of baking empires, and from opulent department store restaurants to 24-hour diners. Learn how these diverse and iconic locations contributed to the food haven that is Toronto today. This walk is free but they do ask that you give a donation. Please register at the link below. https://www.heritagetoronto.org/events/good-eats-tour-august24/
We'll be touring inside and outside Ontario's parliament buildings. We'll first be given a guided tour inside the building by a tour guide then Richard will show you points of interest outside the building. Please be on time! We're taking the 2pm tour and if you're not on time or don't show up this will mess up the whole group so HONOUR your RSVP. This tour is free.
We're having a potluck picnic in High Park ! Bring something to drink and eat to share with everyone else. List what you're bringing below. Please don't bring any junk food as no one eats it, bring fresh food. We are meeting close to the park entrance. Enter from the main entrance on Bloor street, turn right, we are at the picnic tables near the snack bar, look for the blue umbrella. Felice is wearing a red hat. Any problems finding us post a note below. The park is located across the street from the High Park subway station. Some seating is provided on picnic tables but I suggest you BRING A CHAIR or a towel to sit on. So to recap this is what you need to bring: food, drink, chair Please arrive on time otherwise all the good stuff is taken early. This is a cooperative event with my other meetup group.
We will take a nice walk to view some outdoor art on our way to the Chinese festival happening in front of City Hall. We will first meet inside St. Patrick subway station then take a walk to Grange Park to see interesting street art, sculptures, murals, art galleries and buildings in the area. Then we'll walk to City Hall where they're having a festival featuring Chinese entertainment and food. Check it out at: www.dragonfestival.ca There is a $2 Meetup fee for this event.
