New Year's Day on Puget Sound 10k/5k Volkssport Walk Event (Not a group walk)

Celebrate New Year's Day with Emerald City Wanderers Volkssport Club! 2026 has finally arrived.

Register 8:30am-11:30am. Finish by 2:30pm.
All walkers must register before starting the walk. IVV Credit $4.00. Donations are requested to support wonderful walking events like this! This club must pay AVA $2 for each walker.

Join us at St John the Baptist Episcopal Church to register and enjoy soup and socializing after you walk.

TRAIL: (2B)–Walk on sidewalks through the Junction Shopping District on a quiet morning down to Puget Sound, along the waterfront to the Lighthouse, then back on dirt trails through Schmitz Park.10K will walk through neighborhoods and along the waterfront, including the Jack Block Park with its spectacular views of the Port and downtown. Strollers will have difficulty. Not suitable for wheelchairs.

(1A)–5km Walk along sidewalks through the Admiral District with views of the Cascade and Olympic Mountains. Suitable for strollers. Not suitable for wheelchairs.

MISCELLANEOUS:Restrooms at start/finish. Pets permitted, but NOT in buildings. Owners responsible for leash and clean up laws.

DIRECTIONS: I-5: Exit #162. RIGHT on Michigan St. Cross 1st S. Bridge (SR99S) in RIGHT lane. Take first exit (W Marginal Way/SR99S). At end of ramp, RIGHT on 2nd Ave SW. LEFT on W Marginal Way (stoplight). Move to RIGHT lane. STRAIGHT through next stoplight (Highland Drive). Stay on W Marginal Way in the RIGHT lane about 2.5 miles to the 5-way intersection at SW Chelan. STRAIGHT across intersection, BEAR RIGHT onto SW Spokane St. Move to LEFT lane and continue up Admiral Way (BEAR RIGHT to stay on Admiral Way). LEFT on California Ave SW (after Jack in the Box). In two blocks LEFT into West Seattle High School parking lot. Start is in St. John The Baptist Episcopal Church Parish Hall.
