A Walk On Russian Hill & Nob Hill the Hard Way

Details
Now open for RSVPs. The only cost is $3 cash per adult for the walk. We will start at the Starbucks next to the Palace Hotel. At 10:40 AM we will leave there to walk toward Market Street on New Montgomery and cross Market Street to Post and continue on Post to the Mechanics' Institute to look inside for 5 minutes then continue on Post again to Grant Avenue. However, if we have more than 36 attendees we will skip going inside & instead go inside when we come back later & have fewer people. We walk up Grant and turn left at the Chinatown gate so that we will go up Stockton Street. We have changed this walk a couple times to make it better by giving us a bigger restroom stop and to avoid too big crowds in Chinatown.

One should bring a sack lunch or purchase a lunch at the Starbucks where we start. We walked Russian Hill many times, the first time the easy way, but since then we do it the hard way where we go up and down more stairs seeing beautiful gardens. We will get back to the Palace Hotel somewhere between 3:30 & 4:15 PM, depending on how big the group is. The bigger the group the slower the group. Then some of us may celebrate the walk by having a drink at the hotel's world famous Pied Piper Bar.
If you have any questions about how to get around the Bay Area on public transportation below is a trip planner link:
