The 7 Scenic Neighborhoods Walk (South of West Portal)

Details
Now open for RSVPs. Previous forecast of warm/hot weather is wrong, forecast now is for a high of 73F. Anyone may quit the walk at the half-way point, Glen Park, and leave on BART. The first half of this walk is easy, the second half is much harder because it goes up Diamond Heights. The only cost is $3 cash for the walk, but never at the starting point. Kids free. We meet in front of a Starbucks with 2 restrooms, about 1 block West of the West Portal Muni Station, cross street is Vicente. One can take the K, L, or M lines to reach the station.
One should bring a sack lunch or buy one at our starting point. At 11:10 AM we will start walking East on Vicente Street towards St. Francis Wood which bends South and becomes Santa Clara Ave. We will continue on Santa Clara Avenue and then turn right on Monterey Boulevard. Then we visit the 2 big fountains. After exploring St. Francis Wood we will walk through Monterey Heights.
We plan to eat our sack lunches at the Sunnyside Recreation Center and then walk to the Sunnyside Conservatory. Then we walk to Glen Park. The walk is easy up to this point, and attendees who want may leave early by the Glen Park BART Station. We will visit the newly improved Glen Park Recreation Center. Then the group walks up Diamond Heights. Then we walk down Noe Valley, and end in the Mission neighborhood. I estimate the distance is 6 miles or less. Estimated arrival time at our end point, the 24th Street BART Station, is 4:15 PM.
We will have plenty of restrooms stops, and will see lots of good things such as mansions, great views, parks and mini-parks. This part of SF has everything except tourists.
If you have any questions about how to get around the Bay Area on public transportation below is a trip planner link:

I discourage people from driving and parking in SF. If one has to drive to this event one can park for free during the weekends on the street in the nearby St. Francis Wood neighborhood.
