Griffith Peak - Labor Day Hike

Griffith Peak is a strenuous hike of just under 10mi with over 3400ft of elevation gain that’s an excellent training hike for Mt Charleston Peak if anybody is interested in that endeavor. The trail is well define without exposure or scrabbling, though there’s rock steps along some areas to negotiate. The MeetUp time is a bit earlier than I prefer at 7:30am due to limited parking at the trailhead. Dogs are welcome to attend provided they’re well behaved, strong hikers and their owner cleans up after them.

Be sure to bring adequate hydration in consideration of your BMI, comfortable but sturdy hiking footwear, head cover and perhaps snacks; though I usually provide energy food (chocolate) for the general consumption. I’ll also email the status of the hike to attendees the day prior, which will include the weather forecast. Lastly, please consider a small donation to Walking Las Vegas to help defray the cost of the annual dues. Happy trails…
