Newbury to Hungerford Stunning canal walk

A most glorious and stunning 9.5 / 12 mile medium paced walk along the Kennet and Avon canal !

Please arrive by 9.20am at Paddington train station by the ticket office so as to facilitate the purchase of group return train tickets for the 10.03am train that arrives at Newbury at 10.54am.

Train ticket : Return to Hungerford.

Or you may decide to drive.

The walk shall will commence immediately.

Meetup fee £10 payable in cash or £7 by Friday in advance by bank transfer details supplied by private message.

Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes/ boots or trainers.

We shall spend lunchtime in Kintbury.

You should be prepared to walk at least 2.5 miles per hour and have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity.

We shall stop off for a drink in Hungerford at the end of the walk.

The walk to Hungerford is around 9.75 miles but we may decide to increase this by around 2 miles at around 3.30pm / 3.45pm by doing a loop involving the River Dun at Hungerford from St Lawrence Church to Freeman's Marsh.

We shall aim to take the train at 4.47pm that arrives back at 5.58pm after changing at Newbury or the direct train at 5.20pm that arrives at 6.10pm.

There is also a train back at 3.46pm that arrives back at 4.54pm after changing at Newbury.
