Let's go with the flow and spend 5 days in this truly most beautiful UNESCO city in the south of France situated on River Rhone that provided inspiration for Van Gogh and Picasso and is located so close to the white horses, back bulls and pink flamingos of amazing Camargue coastal area !
We shall be staying in Arles at the time of its annual " Les Suds " musical festival so please book accommodation very soon after signing up.
Apparently this musical festival lights up the whole city !
Tickets for the various concerts will become available early in the New Year.
We shall be taking flights as follows :
Monday :
Easyjet flights to Montpellier or Marseille before 9am - Marseille is preferable
Friday :
Easyjet flights from Montpellier or Marseille after 8pm - Marseille is preferable
If you wish you could fly back on Saturday or Sunday and perhaps visit all the amazing Roman remains in Nimes or take a boat ride in the Calanques by Marseille
Please book a hotel - Monday to Friday - of your choice in Arles for 4 nights.

Monday afternoon
Meet Arles train station 4.30pm for 4.45pm
The waterways of Arles
The walk will finish in the Old Town by the amphitheatre.
We should all look to eat in the Old Town and then by 10pm we can all meet up outside Palais de Luppe by Arles Arena for fireworks in respect of Bastille Day.

- around the first 45 mins will be a circular before then walking down to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.

Meet train station as from 9am - buying train tickets at reduced price in groups of 5
Train to Avignon at 9.47am that arrives at 10.06am
Train Avignon to Orange at 2.10pm that arrives at 2.25pm
Train Orange to Arles at 5.31pm that arrives at 6.11pm
River stroll and historical centre sightseeing in Avignon followed by visit to Orange which has many ancient treasures including the world's best preserved ancient theatre

Meet train station as from 8.45am- buying train tickets at reduced price in groups of 5
Train Arles to Sete 9.19am that arrives at 10.57am after changing at Montpellier
Train 5.15pm train back to Arles that arrives at 6.43pm changing at Nimes Pont du Gard
Fabulous coastal Sete circular walk that takes in many beaches in the afternoon so there shall be time for the beach and swimming
