A most beautiful 8.5 mile coastal walk on the south coast !

Let's go with the flow !

We shall buy group tickets as from 8.50am and will take the train at 9.35am that arrives at Bognor Regis at 11.21am.

Train ticket : Bognor Regis return.

Or you may decide to drive.

We shall set off at 11.30am.

Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and wear boots, walking shoes or trainers.

We shall have a drink at the end of the walk in Littlehampton.

Direct train back at 4.43pm ( or at 4.13pm ).

You may wish to do the walk on Sunday Lancing to Bramber and thereby book accommodation for Saturday night in Littlehampton, Worthing or Lancing.

You should be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour and have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity.

A most wonderful 10 mile walk initially by the coast and then along this beautiful river and a chance to visit the remains of Bramber castle !

Meeting by the ticket please arrive by 8.50am so as to buy group train tickets and then take the 9.32am train that arrives at Lancing at 11.21am.

Please note that I shall not be at Victoria as am staying overnight on the south coast.

Train ticket : return to Lancing.

We shall spend lunchtime in coastal town Shoreham-by-Sea.

We shall do an optional lovely loop of iconic Bramber Brooks at the end of the walk.

There is a chance also to explore Bramber Castle.

We shall have a drink in The Castle Inn in delightful quaint Bramber and then after taking the bus back to Shoreham on Sea at 5.22pm we shall take the train back to London to arrive by around 7pm.

The Algarve so famed for golf and beautiful beaches has some fabulous and exciting coastal walks so let's go with the flow and explore this wonderful area in southern Portugal !

There shall not be any major hills although being coastal walks they will be undulating in the main.

Please book a hotel in the coming months for 4 nights - Saturday to Wednesday - and then leave a comment to that effect on the event page.

We shall be staying in
Carvoeiro which is best placed overall for the walks.
If you stay in Lagoa city this will involve a 20 min bus journey.

Deadline to book your hotel is end of November.

At Praia de Caneiros there are 3 options :

• walk back 6 kms
• taxi
• bus 110 at 5.50pm to Monte Carvoeiro ( then walk 10 mins )

Meet 9.45am for 10am

Lagos to Praia do Porto de Mos via Ponta da Piedade

8 kilometres

Bus 107 10.15am to Lagoa arrives 10.25am
Bus 56 10.45am to Lagos arrives 11.30am

Or order a taxi for 10.30am from Oasis in Carvoeiro which will arrive in Lagos by 11.15am

Meet Restaurant Adega da Marina ( by bus terminal ) at 11.40am

At Praia de Mos we shall either :

• take taxis back to Lagos or even back to Carvoeiro
• retrace our steps back to Lagos

Bus back from Lagos 3.45pm bus 80 to Portimao that arrives at 4.35pm and then 107 at 5pm that arrives at 5.30pm
Or
4.45pm bus 56 to Lagoa arriving at 5.30pm then immediately bus 110 to Monte Carvoeiro that arrives at 5.37pm

If some of us do not manage to board the 107 bus at 10.15am then I suggest taking the bus 107 at 2pm to Vale Canteanes that arrives at 2.06pm and then 5 minute walk to the beach and then walk back to Carvoeiro

Meet 10.15am for 10.30am

Praia do Vale Centeanes to Praia de Albandria via Praia da Marinha and then onto Praia Sra da Roche

Bus 107 10.50am arrives Vale de Centeanes at 10.56am then walk 5 mins to the beach

If you like you may take the bus at 9.45am and then wait for the group on the beach for an hour as from around 10am

11 kilometres

Buses back 13 then 107 either 4.03pm to 4.46pm or 5.07pm to 5.40pm

Or return by taxi

Deposit for coach share of fees £45 to be paid by end of January.

Walking and hiking in the Great Outdoors presents certain low level risks and by rsvping to this trip you agree to undertake such risks.

If this trip has to be cancelled for whatever reason then it cannot be guaranteed that the coach monies will be refunded.

You must stay with the group at all times during the walk as it puts too much pressure on the group if people wander off.

If you make arrangements with others for restaurants or taxis you should honour it.

A most stunning 12.5 mile medium paced walk along the Oxford Canal and next to the beautiful River Cherwell !

Let's go with the flow!

Please arrive by 9.05am to facilitate the purchase of group return train tickets for the 9.50am train to Heyford that arrives at 11.05am after changing at Oxford.

Train ticket : return to Banbury

Or you may decide to drive.

Meetup fee £10 payable in cash or £7 non refundable in advance by bank transfer, details available upon request.

The walk shall commence by 11.15am.

You should bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc waterproof jacket and walking shoes / trainers.

We shall stop by at Great Western Arms pub at the half way point and another pub at the end of the walk.

Likely train back from Banbury at 5.40pm that arrives back at London Marylebone at 6.45pm.

You should have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity and be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour.
