Victorian London was a dangerous place especially after dark, with highwaymen and other scoundrel’s waiting to pounce on anyone crossing their path. This walk follows the footsteps of Oliver Twist and the Artful Dodger on their final leg of their journey into London to reach Fagin’s lair as described in Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist. Meeting place: Angel tube station (Northern Line). We leave promptly. I will be at the meeting place 10 mins before departure. I will have my phone (07545 020406) but will switch it to silent at the start of the walk as it’s distracting during a guided walk. There will also be a post walk drinks option too.

What people have said about this Oliver Twist walk:

"I so enjoyed this walk. When Hazel read the extract at the start, it was just words. By the end of the walk, it had become substance and it is rare to be given such insight into exactly what an author truly meant to portray. Thank you Hazel" Alison P

"I really enjoyed this walk. Hazel was friendly and full of local/Dickensian information. I found it well paced - 90 mins was a good length of time not too long or short. Thanks!" Sandie, N1

"I had a great day. Thank you for an interesting walk through Dickensian London." Gareth, Battersea

"The image of little Oliver Twist victimised by poverty, almost seduced by the specious excitement of crime, and then offered the possibility of a lucrative career in authorship is always compelling" Guardian
