Mercury Transit in Downtown Detroit

Details

Transits occur when a planet or another body moves in between another distant body and an observer; transits of our Sun are rare and fascinating astronomical events, and one is happening on the morning of November 11, 2019!

Join Jonathan Kade and Diane Hall in downtown Detroit for the Transit of Mercury! Weather permitting, Diane and Jonathan will have a telescopes you can safely observe the Sun with during the event - you may be able to get a picture with your smartphone too!

Exact location will be posted in the comments here - we need to be able to see the sun in order to see the transit, of course!
