About us
This group is dedicated to reading, exploring, and discussing the history, influence, and philosophy of Black Mountain College (BMC) - the most important experiment in US higher education of the 20th century. Group meet ups will include discussing selected books about the college, practicing the art pedagogical approaches of some of the famous faculty, and debating why and how Black Mountain College is still relevant today. If you are a BMC fan that wishes to join a sympathetic group in the DMV area, then look no further; if you are interested in the educational philosophy, art history, or historical democratic communities, then look no further.
