Fall Foliage Paddle

Fountainhead is fabulous for fall foliage! This will be a leisurely paddle to enjoy the scenery, but the water is cold, so YOU MUST WEAR A WETSUIT.

I scheduled this for the warmest part of the day, when the air temperature should be about 60, roughly the same as the water. Meet at 1:30, launch by 2.

Remember to stop at the little waterside house to pay your launch fee: $6 for locals, $8 for Marylanders and other foreigners (if you're over 55, the fees are $3 or $4). Drive to the ramp to unload, then move your car up the hill to the parking lot. I think that the early-morning crowd will be gone by the time we start, so that we don't have problems parking.

I am not setting mileage for this paddle; that will depend on how fast the group moves, which will depend on how much time we spend leaf-gazing or taking photos vs. time spent paddling. We'll just plan to stop and turn around after paddling about 90 minutes, getting us back to the ramp about 5 (when it should still be about 60 degrees).
