Church of the Double-Bladed Paddle

Details
One way to celebrate Easter is to bask in the beautiful weather on the Chesapeake Bay, so come join us in launching from Discovery Village in Shady Side, Md. Meet at noon, launch by 12:30 (or earlier).
This is for experienced paddlers with a sea kayak 15 feet or longer who have a sprayskirt and can do a wet exit. SATURDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE: Air temperatures in this area will drop to 39 tonight, so Sunday will be colder than I had expected. The high temperature for Sunday is now predicted to reach only 59, and the water may be as cold as 51. Old salts and saltines know what that means: YOU MUST WEAR A WETSUIT OR DRYSUIT.
From Shady Side, we'll paddle into the Chesapeake Bay and Jack Creek, heading South helped by the outgoing tide. Low tide will be about 2:30; a bit after that, we'll turn around and head back, helped by the incoming tide. Mileage? That depends on the group's energy level and how much help we get from the tide (and possibly the breeze). Be prepared to paddle about 10 miles. Bring standard safety gear, water, and lunch or snacks.
