This month we're sponsored by the fine folks at Cloudflare. We have two talks from Robert Aboukhalil and Colin Eberhardt!

The Meetup will be recorded and videos will be linked here after the event.

6:30-7:15pm - Beyond the Browser: Getting Started with Serverless WebAssembly, Robert Aboukhalil
7:30-8:15pm - Build Your Own WebAssembly Compiler, Colin Eberhardt

About the talks:

*Beyond the Browser: Getting Started with Serverless WebAssembly*

WebAssembly has proved to be a powerful tool for porting applications to the web and for speeding up data-intensive apps. In this talk, we explore how serverless WebAssembly can be equally powerful, and how to get started using it.

*Build Your Own WebAssembly Compiler*

In this talk, Colin will look at some of the internals of WebAssembly, explore how it works ‘under the hood’, and look at how you can create your own (simple) compiler that targets this runtime.

About the speakers:

Robert is the author of the book “Level Up With WebAssembly”, and is a Bioinformatics Software Engineer at Invitae, where he develops web applications for the interactive analysis and exploration of genomics data.

Colin is the Technology Director at Scott Logic, a UK-based software consultancy where he creates complex application for financial services clients. He is an avid technology enthusiast, spending his evenings contributing to open source projects, writing blog posts and learning as much as he can. You can find him online @ColinEberhardt.
