Welcome to the Watch-o-holics Anonymous, a community of watch enthusiasts in Singapore who share a passion for timepieces of all kinds. Our purpose is to bring together like-minded individuals who appreciate the artistry, craftsmanship, and history that goes into making a fine watch.
As a member of the Watch-o-holics Anonymous, you'll have access to exclusive events, meetups, and discussions with fellow collectors. You'll also have the opportunity to showcase your own collection, learn from others, and build meaningful connections with like-minded individuals. Also, just like AA, no one will judge you for your addiction to this expensive hobby (unless you turn up with a $100K Hublot...then you will be judged).
Meet-up format:
Meetups will be on Thursday evenings (6 PM) at one of the bars in the city. You would be expected to bring one (or more) of your watches to share with others. Each attendee will be requested to share the story of their watch (e.g. What do you like about it? Why did you buy it? When do you wear it? etc. etc.). Please be prepared to let others try out your watch (this is one of the main motivations of members - learn about different watches and try them out...who knows how many people you inspire for future purchases!). Each meet-up is self funded i.e. you pay for your own drinks and food. However, in order to avoid no-shows, you will be asked to transfer $20 to the host (who will pass it back to you when you turn up at the event).
Membership criteria:
Membership in our club is exclusive and open to those who meet our eligibility criteria. To be eligible for membership, you must have a minimum of three watches in your collection, each of which should be from one of the luxury mainstream or micro watch brands (e.g.: Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Tudor, IWC, Grand Seiko, Cartier, Omega, Vacheron Constantin, etc.). We believe that such brands represent the pinnacle of watchmaking, high horology, and are sought after by discerning collectors. We love micro brands and would love for you to introduce us to them.
Please note that watch dealers and flippers are not allowed to join our group. We are a community of collectors who are passionate about watches, and we want to maintain the integrity of our group by ensuring that our members are here for the passion and not for commercial reasons.
To secure approval to join our club, you will need to share your LinkedIn profile URL and list down your three watches. This is to ensure that our members are professionals who are serious about their watch collecting hobby and who are willing to engage in meaningful discussions and networking with others in our group.
