About us

The Watchers Society for the Interrogation of Cinema is for film enthusiasts who want to show up for a collective dream and then wake and then talk about what it means. Every movie, good or bad, is a puzzle piece that fits somewhere into the greater whole of our inherited and always mutating culture.

Watchers crave the open and honest meat-space conversations we can't get in the marketing silos of cyberspace. Watchers miss the old third spaces of the world that we abandoned for the internet. Let us remake one, eh? This will be an ongoing experiment.

We will largely hover between the Princess Cinema in Waterloo and Whatever Cinema Seems Appropriate Elsewhere. We will tend towards new releases, but will check out the various classics that the Princess serves to us on a silverscreen platter.

Here are The 6 Unassailable Rules:

  1. If you cannot make the discussion you cannot make the movie.
  2. Be respectful. Be polite. Be positive enough to enjoy the fight.
  3. Everyone will be expected to answer the 5 Indispensible Questions.
  4. You cannot ever lie about your thoughts and feelings on the movie.
  5. You cannot ever lie about your thoughts and feelings on the movie.
  6. You cannot ever lie about your thoughts and feelings on the movie.
