What we’re about
Updated description!
HAVE YOU EVER PAINTED ON WATER? The art of water marbling provides an endlessly fascinating experience, surprisingly easy to do with a bit of guidance from a skilled artisan. MeetUps and individual studio sessions are hosted by Star & Phil Greenwood at the Mayu Silk Art Studio Warehouse in Huntington Beach, California. Classes, special events and workshops will also be posted here from time to time. The Mayu Silk Art street team is available for off-site events such as street fairs, private or corporate parties/team building, weddings and bat mitzvah, museum programs and art demonstrations, fundraising events, and more. For info about all of our programs, please go to www.mayusilkart.com or follow us on social media.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. All events are open to all ages, abilities, and genders (unless otherwise specified). For those who wish to participate, pricing for each event will be provided in the listing (there is never a charge for spectators!). Our most popular activity is the Paint-Your-Own silk scarf ($44 for the 6-foot-long silk scarf, $30 for the 22”x22” silk bandana). Other sizes, scarf types, and non-silk items are available. More information can be found at [www.mayusilkart.com/visit](Www.mayusilkart.com/visit) (scroll down the page to see pricing; click the menu at the top of the page to view all products and services).

Typically, water marbling is not a "convenient" process, but we make it easy for you by providing all the tools, equipment and materials - you provide the creativity! With it's forgiving nature and fail-safe tools to help you create gorgeous swirling designs, this learn-as-you- go art form is perfect for folks of all sorts! If you're an artist - GREAT! If you're not an artist - GREAt!! We generally work with kids as young as 2, but there have been younger exceptions. Of course, there is no age cap. Even folks with physical, emotional, or mental impairment can participate. Perfect for artists struggling with Parkinsons, Alzheimers, limited mobility, or failing vision.
Items will include (but not be limited to) silk scarves, table runners and sashes. Additional items may include satin pillow covers, cotton tank tops, cotton or silk bandannas and napkins, silk neckties, fringed scarves, note cards and sheets of paper, and occasionally leather or ceramics.
