Join us for our upcoming meetup on Thursday, 13th of Nov, 2025, at 7pm at the Waterford Treasures Museum (X91 K10E). Enjoy an evening of engaging talks, networking opportunities, food, drinks, and exciting spot prizes as we delve into innovative ideas shaping the technology landscape.

Speakers: Christian Zaccaria & Matias Schimuneck (Red Hat)

Christian Zaccaria is a Software Engineer at Red Hat, working on Kubernetes and open-source AI infrastructure. He focuses on integrating systems like Llama Stack and RAG to enable scalable, production-ready AI workflows. He enjoys sharing her knowledge, mentoring others, and building practical solutions that bridge innovation with real-world applications.

Matias Schimuneck is a Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat, passionate about building intelligent and scalable systems. He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and has led the development of large-scale, time-critical applications — ranging from embedded Ethernet and mobile Wi-Fi testers to CPaaS APIs serving millions of VoIP users. His current work focuses on advancing open-source AI ecosystems through multi-agent architectures powered by retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

Tech Talk: From Retrieval to Action: How RAG Unlocks Enterprise AI

Discover how Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) bridges the gap between raw unstructured data and intelligent automation. In this session, we’ll explore AI agents and how Llama Stack streamlines orchestration, guardrails, and model integration. From document conversion and chunking with Docling to real-world RAG workflows combining LLMs, embeddings, and multimodal models. You’ll learn how to build flexible, production-ready AI systems powered by Llama Stack and open source tech

Speaker 2: Cian Clarke (Nearform)

Cian is the head of AI at Nearform. His expertise spans Generative AI, Natural Language Processing and Cloud Native Architecture. At Nearform, he helps clients imagine the art of the possible at the intersection of Data and AI.
Before joining Nearform, Cian was a co-founder of ServisBOT, a startup in the Conversational AI space, and an early member of the FeedHenry team, acquired by RedHat in 2014. An avid open-source advocate, Cian has both authored and contributed to numerous projects in the domain.
When not working, Cian is an avid sailor & coffee aficionado.

Tech Talk: From Vibe Coding to Spec-Driven Development

At Nearform, we see Spec-Driven Development (SDD) as the blueprint for progressive delivery in the AI-native era.

By applying a SDD methodology on some real customer projects, we’ve accelerated delivery with leaner teams & tested the limits of this methodology along the way.

In this talk, I’ll share why SDD excites us far more than "vibe coding" ever did.

I'll show:

  • How we've found it to deliver greater predictability, completeness, and context-aware outputs, with examples of vibe coding shortcomings that SDD has solved for
  • How codifying the traditional roles of a software team as agentic roles produces more reliable, repeatable results, with examples of how an explicit QA step + context window overcomes many traditional under-completeness reporting challenges
  • How we leverage multiple human-in-the-loop drivers of agents which coordinate on a single project using git
  • How we make SDD fit into the enterprise development cycle through use of MCP connectivity, giving more transparency into the work of agents

We'll also share some of the warts:

  • The types of projects this new development paradigm proved not yet ready to tackle
  • Challenges we've seen to adoption across teams & how to nurture a culture where AI native development isn't a threat
