What we’re about
Abbey Badminton Club, ( now including Watford Badminton Meetup ) was formed over 30 years ago.
We have been enjoying social gatherings with friends on the badminton courts, and participating in healthy competition ever since.
Any teenagers and Adults of reasonable ability, who want to play doubles badminton, either mixed or same sex, please join our group.
We do not encourage absolute beginners, but improvers are welcome. There is no upper age limit.
We would like potential NEW members to be aware that we have a membership capacity of 50, so, to ensure your place you would need to RSVP at your earliest available chance, as we are limited to playing numbers.
We have a permanent booking for three courts, with, at present, the option of one more if required, dependent on numbers.
New members will ONLY be accepted if the three questions on our event page are answered appropriately.
Once membership is approved we would expect an attendance within, say, two months. If that doesn't happen and no explanation is forthcoming, membership may be rescinded to allow others to join.
Our charges are, currently, £7.00 if paid weekly, or £75 if paid quarterly at the start of the 12/13 week term. Payments can be by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
We play on a Friday night 8-10 pm, and we look forward to welcoming all who enjoy a social meetup, with competition, and, for those who are inclined, a refresher, in a local, after the exertions.
