Cloughs and Flags and Woods.

The walk
Bob Appleyard will be leading this walk, to be known as: Cloughs and Flags and Woods. This walk has great variety, starting along Ramsden Clough, a steep sided valley. We then have about 2 km on Snailsden Moor before passing through the abandoned flagstone quarries at Hade Edge. The route then takes us through forest and pastures back to the cars.

Starting/Meeting point:
Public car park at Ramsden Reservoir, Yateholme. Grid SE115056. What-3-Words: Unicorns.cocktail.breakaway. HD9 2QW, but this is a huge area!!. Meet at 10:20 for 10:30 start. Follow the A6024 from Holmfirth to Holmbridge. Turn left after the church/cricket ground, signposted Yateholme. Follow the road round to the right passing various water treatment works and reservoirs to the car park

The walk distance is:
At 6.5 miles, this walk is slightly shorter than our usual outings. This is to allow time for a social drink between Christmas and New Year in the Pickled Pheasant, Holmbridge

Note:
We meet at 10:20 am to enable walk to commence at 10.30 please tel walk organiser (Ian R 07410 380801) if you may be running late.

Walking boots, waterproofs and a packed lunch are required.
We do not allow dogs as we go through many farmer's fields with livestock.

Please do not walk in front of the walk leader unless asked to do so.

Fees

New membership for 2026 is £10 which includes 100's of walks with any of our 6 mid-week groups. For anyone who is not an annual member, we ask for a £1 donation toward our admin and insurance costs.

Please pay the Walk leader on the day.
