Details

From the car park we leave Grimwith Reservoir behind and head south, crossing the B6265 towards Trollers Gill. We then follow the easy path which descends on the west side of Trollers gill. This path comes out above Skyeholme Beck. The route continues along Skyeholme Bank on to Blackhill Rd (track), to Stump Cross Caverns. From here the path heads north west back to Grimwith Reservoir, There is a total ascent of 1124ft and descent of 1147ft.

The distance is 8 miles.

All walks are circular, unless stated.
Meeting:
We usually gather around 10.15 to start the walk promptly at 10.30.
NB:
Walking boots, waterproofs, a packed lunch and drinks are required.
We do not allow dogs on our walks as we often go through farmer's fields with livestock.

In addition to the Meetup members shown, we have members of BSW and CHA attending walks , making a group of between 6 to 16 walkers.
Fees:
New membership fees for 2025 are £10 for 100's of walks with any of our 6 mid-week groups.
For non-members, we ask for a £1 donation on each walk towards our admin and insurance costs.
Please pay the Walk leader on the day.
