The next Bimble with Bob will take in the Wessenden Valley, south of Marsden. The route follows a good track for about 3 miles, gently uphill, before heading West, then North along the Pennine Way and other good paths. Total length: 8 miles. Height gain: 1300 feet, with one short steep section on a flagged path. The route includes about 2 miles on high moorland paths so come equipped for the weather. There are no facilities on the route.

Large car park, at £3.40 for up to 5 hours or road side. Local pub at the finish. Cafes with toilets short walk away.
The walk will include some local history, industrial archaeology, water supplies and, if you are still awake, a smattering of geology. For this reason, I’m calling it Earth, Air, Fire and Water.
