WoB 1st Group Exhibition

2024년 가을, 작은 스케치북을 들고 용산의 한 정원에서 시작된 Ways of Being 모임이 2026년 가을, 첫 그룹전을 엽니다. 그동안 우리는 서울 곳곳 또는 한적한 카페에서 누구의 그림과도 닮지 않은, 오직 자신의 그림을 그려 왔습니다. 특별한 사조나 스타일을 좇기보다 매 순간 자신에게 가장 솔직한 그림을 그리기 위해 다양한 재료와 방법을 실험해 왔고요. 이번 전시에서는 서로 다른 뿌리를 지닌 멤버들이 ‘Where Is My Home?’이라는 주제로 각자의 생각을 풀어놓습니다.

거창하게 ‘첫 번째 그룹전’이라 이름 붙였지만, 사실은 각자가 생각하는 집이 얼마나, 어떻게 다른지 함께 이야기하는 자리입니다. 우리는 한 가지 정답을 찾아 헤매기보다, ‘Ways of Being’이라는 이름에 걸맞게 저마다의 다양한 존재 방식을 귀 기울여 듣고 마음을 열어 나누는 사람들이니까요. 기회가 된다면 당신의 이야기도 들려주실래요? 전시는 북촌의 작은 개인집이자 한옥인 공간에서 열립니다. 공간 특성상, 전시 당일 참석을 원하시는 분들께만 장소를 안내드립니다. 그럼, 북촌에서 만나요!

In the fall of 2024, the Ways of Being group began in a garden in Yongsan with small sketchbooks in hand. In the fall of 2026, we’re holding our first group exhibition. In the meantime, we’ve been drawing our own images—unlike anyone else’s—around different spots in Seoul or in quiet cafés. Rather than chasing any grand movement or style, we’ve experimented with a range of materials and methods to make the most honest drawings we could in each moment. In this exhibition, members with different roots will share their thoughts around the theme “Where Is My Home?”

We’ve grandly called it our “first group exhibition,” but in truth it’s a chance to talk together about how different each person’s idea of home is, and in what ways. Instead of wandering in search of a single right answer, we’re people who—true to the name “Ways of Being”—listen closely to one another’s different ways of existing and share openly. If you have the chance, would you share your story with us, too? The exhibition will be held in a small private home— a hanok—in Bukchon. Because of the nature of the space, we’ll share the location only with those who would like to attend on the day of the exhibition. See you in Bukchon!
