There are scam emails circulating impersonating the organiser of this group. I do not email authors, I do not request money, and all funds raised through this book club go directly to charity.

Monday nights are rubbish... But wait, they don't have to be!

What are we reading? Shortlisted for the International Booker Prize, an inflatable dinghy carrying migrants from France to the United Kingdom capsized in the Channel causing the death of 27 people on board. Despite receiving numerous calls for help, the French authorities wrongly told the migrants they were in British waters and had to call the British authorities for help. By the time rescue vessels arrived on the scene, all but two of the migrants had died. The narrator of Delecroix’s fictional account of the events is the woman who took the calls.

We're a very relaxed and friendly book club so please join in.

Tickets sell out quickly! There’s nothing we can do about that, sorry - we sometimes get cancellations closer to the day of the event so check back if you’ve missed out. Also, people always ask about a waiting list - unfortunately Meetup don’t offer this feature for this type of event.

We'll stay as long as we still have things to say (usually around 2 hours) and pick next months book with a vote so come prepared with suggestions.
