Next Real Talks: COMEDY IN FILM
Natlab, Kastanjelaan 500, Eindhoven, NLNext Real Talks brings creatives together for open conversations about the realities of creative life — with insights in a work process both the struggles and success. In an intimate and interactive setting, we create space for honest dialogue, listening, and picking each other’s brains.
During this talk we explore the power of comedy in film, shining a light on a genre that continues to evolve across both mainstream and independent cinema. But how do you craft humor that resonates, on a tight budget? What themes and perspectives shape comedic storytelling? And how do you translate timing, tone, and absurdity from script to screen?
This session examines what it takes to work within the genre, the challenges of making people laugh, and why comedy remains such a vital reflection of contemporary culture.
Guests: actress Lonne Gosling, actor and composer Joep Vermolen and filmmaker Jochem de Vet.
