We Cycle Rock and Stroll RVA

Part of my pursuit to provide more diverse activities and greater personal wellness for myself and group members. This will be one in a series of Walking/hiking events in 2025... We will meet at pony pasture parking lot 7200 Riverside dr. We will walk along the river 3- 4 miles with a few brief stops to river gaze. Please bring weather appropriate gear will do some trails hiking shoes recommended Bring water and snack. Will provide more info moving forward.

Came up with path that offers sand dirt and light gravel and rocks...it is a 1.5 mile loop will do 2- 3x

Choose your own adventure - join me for all or just some!

• Meet at the Chickahominy Riverfront Park parking lot and be ready to ride at 10am
• We will ride toward Jamestown leaving the trail a bit to ride the parkway toward Jamestown Island. We'll do the loop where we can do the 'short' loop - 3miles or the 'long' loop - 5miles.
• Return to the Capital Trail and head back
• Lunch stop at Spokes & Art
• Arrive back at the parking lot.
• Total miles approx. 25. Flat easy riding!

What to bring:

• Helmet
• Trail/Mountain Bike/Road bike?
• *a small portion of the ride is on the parkway with exposed aggregate paving. Not recommended for bikes with narrow tires.
• Water/Snacks
• $ for lunch, if interested

*Ride at your own risk. Note - the Jamestown Island portion of the ride is shared with cars. Generally, very few cars traveling at slow speed.

Paddle After?

• If the weather is nice, I plan on paddling the marshy flatwater area of the river after the bike ride.
• Kayaks and life vests are available for rent at Chickahominy Riverfont Park Camp Store.
• Bring your own kayak if you would like.
• *Paddle at your own risk.

Ok everyone we are going to try another exploratory walk this time in the West End at Crump Park We will walk the trail loop 1.7 miles x 2 relatively flat but could be some muddy areas. We will also explore some of the other areas of the park. 3.4-4 mile walk. Bring water weather appropriate gear and sturdy footwear..

Afterward we will head over to the dugout bar and Grill an icon in the area for over 50 years.. Looks like the classic dive bar from outside but has a wide variety of food.
