Volunteer at Coats for Kids: Sort & Pick Coats
Overview
You can give kids warmth by sorting coats with a friendly team—see real community impact, and connect with others who care about families.
Details
What better to way to spend a Friday night than to help make sure kids in our community have a warm coat this winter? :) 🧥
Impact We'll be helping the Junior League of Austin's 39th coat drive on their mission to provide over 35,000 warm winter coats to kids to over 100 schools across the Austin, Del Valle, and Pflugerville districts.
*You have to sign-up on their website in addition to the Meetup*

What we’ll do The flow will look like this: take cleaned coats from boxes → place each coat on a hanger → sort the coats by size onto racks → "shop" the racks to fill specific orders.

Logistics Please arrive a few minutes early to get parked and checked in.
Parking is available for free in the JLA parking garage.
Wear and bring Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes are a must. The sorting area is in a covered outdoor garage, so it will likely be chilly. Please dress in layers. Bring a reusable water bottle. Ideally eat a snack or meal before coming.
Afterwards Since we finish at 9:00 PM, we'll see how everyone feels about getting a late night snack/drink.
Fun Facts from last year's 2024 drive:
- Donated 33,607 coats
- Served 104 AISD schools, 16 Del Valle ISD schools, 13 Pflugerville ISD schools, and 26 charter schools
- Provided coats to 259 families at the H-E-B Feast of Sharing
