“Today a young man on acid realised that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the Weather.”
- Bill Hicks
In today's society, we battle with science to try to understand the world and yet we see nothing behind your eyes but behavior. The thing, or should I say, no-thing that experiences is not on our road map, but few of us are willing or radical enough to suggest that the deepest essence of ourselves simply doesn't exist. Some of us think there is only one of these things (or no-thing) and that all experiences, of all life and all knowledge occurs within it. The individual self, is the illusion that modern neuroscience and ancient spiritual tradition seem to suggest. What we have is a monism of consciousness to accompany the monism of physical reality.
At present this is run as a quarterly meetup.
Religious or not, spiritual or not, skeptical or believing, you're welcome. I believe good ideas stand up to scrutiny.
