Feeling Drawn-The Spirit of the Magnet Ceremony in Tucson

Details

In this circle we will explore the unseen and important spirit that hovers around the magnet.

Ancient humans observed that when iron deposits on the soil surface were struck by lightning they gained a strange new ability. Attraction and repulsion.

A live soundscape of wind chime, metal singing bowl and various bells is shared to assist our inner journey. While listening, we can hold two magnets and feel the source of the concept of attraction that has become a powerful metaphor in describing aspirations.

Interesting, that opposite poles attract and similar poles repel unlike the metaphor. Much later people observed the magnets ability to point north. This linked the magnet with the north star, the celestial guide. Born of lightning, related to the heavens, the lode star and the lode stone have guided human imagination.

Today we honor the protective shield of the earths magnetism. The spinning molten core creates the magnetic field which diverts the solar storms of coronal mass ejections. We see this as the dancing northern lights...the aurora. Lightning above, a molten core beneath and between these spirits, magnetism, powerful symbols of the compelling realities that guides human destiny.
