Deuel Creek Loop, Centerville
Details
Let's do a cooler hike where we are mainly under the trees and beside a creek. We will go up the north side trail and return on the south side. There is some uphill at the beginning, but then the trail levels out and follows the creek. There are a few smaller waterfalls and some great campsites along the way. There has been a rope swing on the trail. We do cross the creek a few times. Alltrails labels this as a "moderate" hike. The distance is 5.2 miles round trip, 1600’ elevation gain. We'll take a break at the waterfall before returning. The hike normally takes 2 ½ to 3 hours.
Directions: Take I-15 to Centerville exit. Head east to 400 East and turn right (south). Make your way to 100 south and turn left and head east towards the end of the pavement. The paved road ends at Island View drive (850 East). Park along 100 south or Island View. (We don't park at the upper lot because some vehicles have trouble making it up the dirt road). Google maps lists the closest house as 163 S 850 E, Centerville.
