WebGL Content Pipeline

Details
So all these WebGL demos are great... but how the hell does an artist export 3D art out of content creation tools? Let's get together and talk about how to do this.
PROGRAM
COLLADA, glTF and WebGL for Professional Art Paths
Tony Parisi - ViZi
WebGL common practice still has the programmer at the center of the action, even when it comes making art. It's time to put art creation back where it belongs: in the hands of artists. I will show the latest art path progress using COLLADA and the new glTF standard to bring complete models, scenes and animations directly into WebGL applications from popular professional art tools like 3ds Max and Maya.
Integrating the Three.js Editor with Google Drive
Aleksandar (Aki) Rodic - Google Creative Lab
WebGL on all mobile devices. Are you serious?
Iker Zugaza - Ludei
In this talk we are going to check the status of WebGL (and canvas 2d briefly) on mobile devices and try to answer the following question: Is it possible execute WebGL based apps on all mobile devices? Current and future options will be exposed and among them Ludei's approach and proposal.
Sunglass Update
Robin Willis - Sunglass.io
Bunch of new tools. Our talk will mostly be focused on using our suite of a cad plugins to sync and bring models into the Sunglass webgl environment and then using our api to serve them to whatever custom applications your heart desires.
SPEAKER BIOS
Aki Rodic comes from visual effects and game development background. He studied at Savannah College of Art and Design and interned at EA Games, Pixar and Google Creative Lab where he worked on ROME (http://www.ro.me/) with the Data Arts Team. His specialties are WebGL, 3D/VFX tools, shaders and jellyfish (http://aleksandarrodic.com/p/jellyfish/). At his previous job he worked on the the latest LucasArts game STAR WARS 1313 (http://starwars.com/watch/sw1313_webdoc1.html).
Iker Jamardo is a passionate software engineer whose main interests include real time graphics and software architecture and design. Since his first steps in professional software development back in 2000 he has been related to the video game industry where he worked for a couple of years developing a AAA PC game. Then he moved to the research and lecturing field for over 10 years at the University of Deusto in Bilbao, Spain, where he developed multiple projects in multimedia, virtual and augmented reality and accessibility technologies, working closely with companies in the area. Wanting to go back to the video game industry, he joined Ludei to help with the design and development of the core native multi platform technology of the Cocoon engine, a Service Oriented Architecture that includes CocoonJS, a customized JavaScript virtual machine specifically tuned for native HTML5 game execution and monetization.
Robin Willis I am a critical and creative workaholic who left Los Angeles for New York City to study art and design at The Cooper Union school of Art, and then Cambridge to study architecture at MIT. Now I live and work at Sunglass in San Francisco. The rest is a long story.
Tony Parisi is an entrepreneur and career CTO/architect. He has developed international standards and protocols, created noteworthy software products, and started and sold technology companies.
Tony is perhaps best known for his work as a pioneer of 3D standards for the web. He is the co-creator of VRML and X3D, ISO standards for networked 3D graphics. Tony continues to build community around innovations in 3D as the co-chair of the WebGL Meetup (www.meetup.com/WebGL-Developers-Meetup) and a founder of the Rest3D working group (http://www.rest3d.org/).
Tony is currently a partner in a stealth HTML5 tools startup and has a consulting practice developing games, virtual worlds and web applications for San Francisco Bay Area clients.
