What we’re about
This meetup is a revival of a past meetup with nearly the same name. The change being the replacement of "nature" with "mostly paved path." The reason for this change is that ticks and poison ivy (not to mention some soggy conditions during rainy times) took a toll on our members and on our numbers. So, many of our walks will be on railroad pathways that have been converted into hiking and biking trails. In the past, we limited our radius to about 30 miles around Albany. However, I think now with the limit on type of trail, we will venture a bit further sometimes. And, even though we will be doing mostly paved trails, I hope that if some members are interested in taking on more rugged venues, that we can arrange those.
I expect most walks to be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sometimes we may find a place nearby to share lunch. The day of the week will vary, in part depending on the weather.
If a cancellation of an event is necessary (usually due to weather), it will be communicated via the app as soon as determined, and hopefully no later than 8 a.m. the day of the event.
I expect to begin scheduling events in March 2025, and hope to see you soon.

Last week we started from this spot and headed east. This week we will head west.
This trail is longer than our hour and a half time slot permits, so we will go out for 45 minutes, then turn around.
There is a parking lot that accommodates many cars, but it also gets a lot of business. If it is full, parking on nearby streets should be doable. We will meet in the parking lot.

(NOTE: Last week I said that I was going to try and also schedule a non-paved event for this week. However, since Monday night through Tuesday morning show as having a 90% chance of rain, and I would have scheduled for Tuesday - This week there will be only this paved walk on Friday.)
