Enjoy walking path with pretty flowers blooming on plant community!
We would like to go hiking to Mt.Yamato-katsuragi which is located between Osaka and Nara prefecture. This mountain features giant plant community of azalea in May. We can see huge numbers of the flowers from a higher hill closed to the mountaintop. It is often described that we can see hundreds of thousands of azaleas at a glance.
However, this mountain in this specific season is too famous. So huge numbers of people visit there in weekends and there is tremendous congestion. We cannot see the flowers freely with each enough private room, it is difficult to find where to eat lunch together with group members near the spaces, we also have to bear the heavy congestion in the trains,bus and trails to the montaintop.This time go there in the weekdays to avoid those.
Though it is convenient to go there via Gose in Nara prefecture and most people do that, we approach to this mountain from southeastern Osaka suburban area to avoid crowds in the transportations and trails.
We walk moderate trails to the mountaintop, the trails do not have interesting places but it is relatively easy to walk. Around the top of the mountain we can enjoy the panoramic views in the distance and walk as looking huge numbers of colorful azaleas. Finally we go back to the same trailhead and station we pass in the morning.

大群落で咲いている花々を愛でながら歩きましょう！
大阪・奈良府県境にある大和葛城山へハイキングに行きたいと思います。この山は5月のツツジの大群落が特徴です。山頂近くの小高い丘から物凄い数の花々を見ることが出来、一目百万本とよく言われます。
しかしながら、この特定の季節のこの山はあまりにも有名です。そのため凄まじい数の人々が週末にはこの山に押し寄せてとんでもない混雑になります。個々ゆったりと自由に花を見ることもできず、その近くではグループで一緒に昼食をとる場所を見つけるのも困難、また電車・バスや山頂までの登山道も激しい混雑に耐えなければいけません。今回私たちはそれらを避けて平日に行きます。
ここに行くには奈良県の御所経由が便利で殆どの人々がそうしますが、私たちは交通機関や登山道の混雑を避けて大阪府南東部郊外地域から目指していきます。山頂まで穏やかな道を歩き、この道は面白い場所はありませんが比較的歩きやすいです。山頂近くでは遠方の景色を楽しんだり色とりどりのツツジを見ながら歩きます。最終的に朝に通る同じ登山口そして駅に戻ります。
