About us
Weekend Trail Ride Club is a friendly group for people who want to enjoy easy-to-moderate trail cycling on weekends, bank holidays, and days off.
Rides will mainly be organised around Greater Manchester and nearby trail areas, with possible rides in places such as the Peak District, Rivington Pike, Winter Hill, Clayton Vale, Philips Park, and other suitable trail locations.
We focus on dirt trails, forest paths, gravel routes, mountain trails, park trails, and other off-road routes suitable for mountain bikes, hybrid bikes, gravel bikes, or similar trail-ready bikes.
The aim of the group is to bring people together for relaxed social rides, explore new trails, build confidence, and enjoy the outdoors without pressure or racing. Most rides will be beginner-friendly to moderate, with the route difficulty, distance, surface type, meeting point, and bike suitability clearly shared before each event.
We usually plan to ride every second weekend, either Saturday or Sunday, depending on the route, weather, and group availability. We may also organise rides on bank holidays and other days off.
This group is ideal for people who enjoy trail riding, want to meet other cyclists, and prefer a friendly, supportive pace. Bring a suitable bike, water, snacks, suitable clothing, and a positive attitude.
Let’s ride, explore, and enjoy the trails together.

First Group Trail Ride: Rivington Pike & Brere’s Meadow
Rivington Trail Ride Meeting Point, 53°37'33.4"N 2°33'23.7"W, Rivington, GBJoin Weekend Trail Ride Club for our first beginner-friendly social trail ride around Rivington Pike and Brere’s Meadow.
This will be a relaxed group ride through the Rivington area, with a mix of natural trails, gravel paths, short paved sections, and uneven ground. The route is fairly short, but it does include climbing, so it is best described as beginner-friendly moderate rather than completely easy.
The aim of this ride is to meet other members, enjoy the trails, build confidence, and ride together at a comfortable group pace. This is not a race.

## Ride style
This will be a relaxed social ride. We will ride at a steady group pace and stop when needed. There is no pressure to be fast.
If anyone needs to walk or push their bike on a climb or tricky section, that is completely fine. The main goal is to enjoy the ride and build confidence together.
Please only join if you are comfortable riding on gravel, dirt paths, uneven surfaces, and some hill climbs.
## What to bring
Please bring:
- A working trail-ready bike
- Helmet, strongly recommended
- Water
- Snacks
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Spare inner tube or puncture repair kit
- Phone with battery
- Any personal medication you may need
## RSVP Spaces
There are only 10 RSVP spaces showing on Meetup because of the current Meetup plan limit. The ride itself is not restricted to 10 people.
If the event is full and you would still like to join, please comment on the event or message me before coming, so I have an idea of numbers.
## Important
This is a shared outdoor area, so we may meet walkers, runners, dogs, families, and other cyclists. Please ride carefully, slow down around others, and be respectful of everyone using the trails.
Everyone rides at their own risk and is responsible for their own bike, safety, fitness level, and equipment.
Looking forward to our first group ride together.
