ABOUT THIS EVENT
Join us on Saturday, February 28th @ 11:00 AM as we take a late morning walk around Balboa Island in Newport Beach. This is a flat 3-mile casual moderate paced walk on concrete pavement around the island (see map webpage link below for this event). This is considered beginner walk because of the distance and terrain around the Balboa Island, and is dog friendly (on leash). Invite your friends, meet with existing friends and make new friends at this event. After the hike, everyone is welcome to join us to for late lunch, snacks or drinks at at one of the restaurants on Marine Avenue. ** This event is might change or might be canceled due to inclement weather. Have your notifications turned on and check Meetup the day of this event. **

MEETING LOCATION & PARKING INFORMATION:
We will be Parking and Meeting in front of the old Union Bank/USBank building at the Bayside/ Pavilions Shopping Center - 1090 Bayside Dr, Newport Beach, CA. We will walk over the Marine Avenue bridge and then around the island. PUBLIC RESTROOMS: Public restrooms are located on Marine Ave by the Fire station, and near the Ferry on Agate and South Bay Front

ABOUT BALBOA ISLAND: Balboa Island is a harborside island community in Newport Beach, accessible to the public via bridge, ferry and several public docks. The community is surrounded by a paved concrete boardwalk open to pedestrian traffic, designated as a public walking trail by the city. Balboa Island's Marine Avenue is home to small local businesses including restaurants, bakeries, gift shops, museum, and local crafts. The island also has a fire station and a post office.

ATTENDANCE GUIDELINES
Everyone who RSVPs for this event agrees to read, accept and comply to these Attendance Guidelines listed below. These guidelines are to ensure the safety and security of our members and attendees. It also ensures the integrity of the event by holding everyone accountable to honor their RSVP.
1. EVENT RSVP: Everyone who attends must be on the “Going” List. If you are unable to attend, please change your RSVP to “Not Going” or notify the host. Please add the event to your calendar. Only RSVP if you truly plan to participate. Do not ask who or how many people are attending. This event is scheduled on multiple Meetup groups, so more people may attend than shown for this group.
2. NOTIFICATIONS: Keep your Meetup notifications turned on and check your Meetup messages, and personal email for event updates.
3. CONFIRMATIONS: You may be asked to confirm your RSVP so the host can give the venue an accurate headcount for the reservation. If you don’t confirm, you will be moved to “Not Going.” You may still go to the venue, but you may not be able to sit with the group. No-shows may be removed or blocked from future events.
4. PROFILE PHOTOS & NAMES: We must be able to identify everyone who RSVP's. You must have a clear, current unobscured photo of yourself (no photos with sunglasses, hats, face coverings, group photos, animals, scenery, blurry, shirtless; or suggestive photos. Your profile name must be your real first name only.
5. BEHAVIOR: Be respectful, courteous, and sober. No gossiping, arguing, or discussions about negative topics (politics, race, religion, wars, other people or groups). No profanity allowed.
6. HARASSMENT & STALKING: No unwanted leering, touching, suggestive comments, explicit language, or stalking allowed. Do not message other members unless you already know them. Report violations to the host. Offenders will be removed and reported, and crimes will be reported to police.
7. HEALTH: Please do not attend if you feel sick or have symptoms (cough, fever, chills, body aches, sniffles, etc.).
8. DISCLAIMER: By RSVPing and attending this event, you agree to participate at your own risk. The organizers and group members are not responsible or liable for any injury, loss, damage, health issues, harassment, or harm to you, your family, friends, children, pets, vehicle, or personal property arising from any group activity. We care about your well‑being and will offer support if something does occur, but each attendee is responsible for using the Meetup website and app. Organizers, hosts, and attendees do not provide Meetup training or tech support. Group membership is strictly “at will.” Photos may be taken at events and shared on Meetup or social media for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed, please let us know or avoid group photos.
