Pismo Preserve: Discovery and Peek-a-Boo (see new parking policy notes)

Join us as we traverse Discovery Trail with a detour through the Peek-a-Boo teardrop loop, before rejoining Discovery. These trails offer views of the Pacific Ocean, the rolling hills above Pismo/Shell Beach, and sweeping views of the Avila coastline, unless the weather brings us the traditional marine layer. 😄
Details:

• Water & a snack for the trail, if needed
• Shoes with good tread, layers, sun protection, etc.
• Total distance: about 6 1/2 miles
• Pace: moderate to brisk
• Elevation Gain: around 700'
• Expect loose gravel, bring hiking poles, if needed
• ⚠️ According to Pismo Preserve policy, rain cancels this hike.

• Parking Notes
  The Pismo Preserve is implementing a new parking program which requires parking registration, with an option to donate to the ongoing management and maintenance of the property and facilities. A donation is not required, and you may choose to register without making any payment. Registration can be done through the ParkMobile app or the parking station near the restrooms and kiosk.
