## Virtual Movie & Crafting Night: Coco

A warm, culturally mindful gathering for trauma survivors to explore themes of family, memory, identity, and healing through film and creativity.
Join us for a supportive virtual movie night where we’ll watch Disney’s Coco together while crafting, pausing once for a grounding discussion, and ending with space to share what resonated and show off any completed or in‑progress art. This event is designed to be gentle, choice‑centered, and emotionally safe.

### Content & Trigger Warnings

While Coco is a vibrant animated film, it includes themes that may be activating for some viewers, such as:

  • Family conflict, secrecy, and estrangement
  • Grief, death, and ancestral loss
  • Intergenerational trauma and unmet emotional needs
  • Identity confusion and fear of disappointing loved ones
  • Moments of sadness, fear, and emotional overwhelm

You are encouraged to care for yourself in whatever way feels right. Cameras on or off, stepping away, muting, crafting without watching, or leaving early are always okay. You never need to explain your boundaries.

### What to Expect

  • Craft‑Along Viewing: Bring any craft that feels grounding—drawing, knitting, painting, collage, beadwork, or anything soothing and repetitive. No pressure to finish anything; the focus is comfort and regulation.
  • Two Pause Points: We’ll take a couple of intentional breaks during the movie to breathe, check in, and optionally share thoughts or emotional reactions. Participation is always optional.
  • Closing Reflection Circle: After the film, we’ll gather for an open conversation about what stood out, what felt meaningful or challenging, and how the film’s themes connected with your own experiences. You’re welcome to share your crafts if you’d like.
