Virtual Trauma Survivor Movie and Craft Night
Details
## Virtual Movie Night: Melancholia + Crafting & Community Reflection
Join us this Friday for a creative virtual movie night for trauma survivors. We’ll be watching Melancholia together while crafting, pausing for grounding discussions, and closing with space for reflection and connection.
### Content & Trigger Warning
Melancholia includes themes that may be activating for some viewers, including:
- Depression, suicidality, and emotional withdrawal
- Family conflict and interpersonal tension
- Apocalyptic imagery and existential dread
- Scenes of distress, hopelessness, and overwhelm
You are encouraged to care for yourself in whatever ways you need throughout the event. You are never expected to explain your boundaries.
### What to Expect
- Craft‑Along Viewing: Bring any craft you enjoy—drawing, knitting, painting, collage, beadwork, or something simple and soothing. There’s no pressure to finish anything; the goal is to have your hands engaged in something comforting while we watch.
- Two Supportive Pause Points: We’ll take one to two intentional breaks during the film to check in, discuss themes that surfaced, and offer grounding time. Sharing is always optional.
- End‑of‑Movie Reflection: After the film, we’ll spend time processing the overall experience together. Participants are welcome to share thoughts, emotions, opinions, or simply listen.
- Craft Showcase (Optional): You’re invited to show your finished or in‑progress craft pieces. This is a celebration of creativity, not perfection.
### Tone & Safety
This space is designed to be calm, validating, and choice‑centered. You’re welcome exactly as you are, and your comfort is the priority throughout the night.
