Start Time: Friday 6:00 PM
Finish Time: Saturday 8:00 PM
Difficulty: Challenging
Now that things are thawing out, it's a great time to explore the epic backcountry hiking in Kananaskis Country.
This backcountry adventure will begin near Upper Kananaskis Lake at the Elk Pass Parking Lot at 6 pm on Friday, May 3rd. From there we will hike 2-3 hours into the Lower Elk Lake where we will stay in an Alpine Hut (which is nice because the nights are still a little cold for backcountry camping).
In the morning, we will explore the Lower and Upper Elk Lakes and hike to spectacular Petain Falls before hiking back to the trailhead via Frozen Lake at the Elk Pass parking lot around 8 pm on Saturday.
