Famous Short Films Screening and Discussion

Hosted By
Ed D.

Details
This is a joint meeting with the Minnesota Filmmakers club to watch and discuss three influential underground short films:
- "Un chien andalou," directed by Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dali
- "Meshes of the Afternoon," directed by Maya Deren
- "Lucifer Rising," directed by Kenneth Anger
These shorts make up an hour combined, so there will be plenty of time for discussion. All these movies were made independently, demonstrating what can be accomplished by passionate people with little money outside of any studio system.
It's all free. We'll be in the studio/screening room of SPNN, a community media center in a warehouse district of St. Paul. Parking should be easy.
And feel free to recommend another movie on the 366 Weird Movies List for a future meeting: 366 Weird Movies + Apocrypha: streaming info last updated 5/24/21 - Google Sheets.
