"Lisztomania" Screening, Pizza, and Discussion

Details

Let's try something a little different for this one. King Coil spirits has graciously offered a space for us for free on a Sunday evening. We just have to be out by 8, and it would sure help if we ordered drinks and dinner.

I will pre-order nine 12-inch pizzas for $150 total. There will be plenty of vegetarian options. You can just reimburse me for $10 if you have any of the pre-ordered pizza. You can give me cash or contribute on the main page of this group. Otherwise, you can order pizza there; King Coil has an OG ZaZa pizza restaurant on premises.

I've always wanted to screen movies that aren't really appropriate for the library and might be better with a drink or two in you. Ken Russell directed lots of movies like that. "Lisztomania" might not be his most cohesive or celebrated film, but it's the one that when I saw it, I thought, "Man, this would be great with a crowd!'

I'll get to King Coil at 3:30 p.m. and try to set everything up in time for a 4 p.m. start. Get there early so you don't miss a minute. We probably won't start right at 4, but try to be there around then anyway.

Parking should be no problem. King Coil has a big parking lot that it shares with a bunch of other businesses, including SPNN, where we had a showing of shorts a while back. None of these businesses are busy on Sunday evenings.

And feel free to sitemail me to recommend another movie for a future meeting. It would be great if you wanted to host and lead discussion too. You can go by the official list from the website 366 Weird Movies (366 Weird Movies + Apocrypha: streaming info last updated 5/24/21 - Google Sheets) or suggest something else.
